How to scout a Lichess player's openings
The free manual way
On any Lichess profile, open the Games tab and filter by rated games. The Opening Explorer has a "Player" tab where you can type a username and see their move choices with win/draw/loss stats, filtered by colour and time control.
What to look for
- First-move choice as White and replies to 1.e4 / 1.d4 as Black
- Lines with many games but a poor score
- Time-control differences (bullet vs rapid)
- How games end: timeouts, resignations, long endgames
